Ladislav Sutnar

Sutnar's personality is best characterized by the word pioneer, because he blazed new paths of thought and creation and courageously implemented what today's generation takes for granted. 

With his versatile talent, Ladislav Sutnar (1897-1976) joined the community of modern European designers and architects who strived for the highest possible quality of the environment of everyday life. The breadth of his creative and organizational activities is astounding.

He modernized the design of utility objects and publications, toys and puppets, architecture, exhibitions, professional education and decisively influenced the lifestyle of the middle classes of pre-war Czechoslovakia.
